About the Author: K Andrew Edmonds (aka Andy / Andyed)

Bio

Andy Edmonds recently returned from Seattle to his roots in Atlanta after working for Microsoft on search quality and analytics from the beginning beta phase of their new search engine platform in Fall 2004. He now leads the user experience across Atlanta-based Smart Marketing, Inc.'s e-commerce websites and Free IQ, an associated startup dedicated to online media sharing and e-commerce. Andy has a passion for creating Firefox extensions, AJAX user interfaces, eye tracking web browsing, cognitive psychology experiments on reading and typography, and crunching terabytes of data to gain insights into user behavior.

Previously, Andy managed UI development at PARC spinoff for personalized search called Outride, taught classes and was a lead consultant for Macromedia partner Figleaf Software, and got a crash course in changing the face of business by introducing online banner advertising to a traditionally print, radio, and tv oriented public company.
